Project Scope

When our clients purchased their forever home in Swampscott, they saw its potential immediately, but the existing first-floor layout and kitchen didn’t reflect how they wanted to live.

We partnered with them to reimagine the space from the ground up, creating what they described as their dream home. Every decision was guided by a clear vision: honor the home’s mid-century modern roots while delivering a layout that feels open, functional, and effortlessly comfortable.

The original floor plan felt closed off and disconnected. Through thoughtful planning and architectural redesign, we opened the entire first floor, creating a seamless flow between kitchen, dining, and living spaces.

This transformation wasn’t just about aesthetics. It was about creating a home that supports everyday living, entertaining, and long-term comfort.

To fully realize the vision, we took the space down to the studs and rebuilt it with intention. This allowed us to improve structure, flow, and performance, resulting in a home that feels as solid as it is beautiful.

Every detail was considered, from structural updates to finish selections, ensuring the final space delivers both durability and comfort.

Design selections

The design selections throughout the home reflects a refined take on mid-century modern style:

  • Custom walnut cabinetry anchors the kitchen with warmth and depth

  • Vertical forest green tile from Zia Tile adds texture and a bold, organic focal point

  • A custom V-groove pine ceiling brings continuity and natural character overhead

  • Floating stairs with a custom railing system from Viewrail visually connect the levels while maintaining an open, architectural feel

Each element was selected to work together, creating a cohesive space that feels elevated, yet completely livable.

A Cohesive Interior + Exterior Transformation

Beyond the interior, we extended the transformation to the exterior—creating a cohesive experience from the moment you arrive.

  • All new windows bring in natural light while improving energy efficiency

  • New siding refreshes the home’s exterior, aligning it with the updated interior aesthetic

  • Clean lines and material choices reinforce the home’s mid-century modern character

The result is a home that feels intentional from every angle, with interior and exterior working together seamlessly.
