Open Concept Kitchen Renovation in Marblehead

“We chose Matt and Wolfe Design Build after a few months of searching and speaking to a number of contractors. Matt immediately understood our vision and, even during the first consultation, he brought a really well-rounded perspective to the table. He has an incredible eye for detail and immediately helped us understand the real scope of the work, key decisions we would be making, and some truly awesome ideas we had never considered. While the contractor selection phase of a project can be frustrating, obtaining quotes in a timely manner, Matt provided us with an itemized quote a couple days after our first consultation meeting - this made it easy for us to select Wolfe Design Build and it also set the tone for the rest of the project.

Matt is extremely detail oriented, communicative, and fair — he really embodies the ideal partner. This was our first time partnering with a contractor for a major home renovation, so Matt made it easy for us and came to the table with a week-by-week schedule including due dates when we needed to make decisions. We lived in our house through the renovation and Matt was extremely considerate, keeping the construction area sealed off and very clean. He really minimized the disruption to our family as much as possible. Matt has a great network of craftspeople who were talented yet fairly priced. The process made us feel comfortable--we didn't worry or stress which is saying a lot for this scale renovation!

The craftsmanship in our kitchen is beyond what we imaged we could have. The carpentry work is perfection— this kitchen will last us a lifetime. It holds up to kids and our dog. Matt's attention to detail is amazing. He thought of every little thing--details we would never have even considered. It's all those little things that make the space feel luxurious and perfect. Matt is also really creative. He transformed our very jagged and hodgepodge kitchen to a space that feels intentional and clean. And, he found a local craftsman to create our beautiful oak peninsula and floating shelves. 

Throughout it all, Matt was in constant communication with us. We got regular updates, face-to-face time, and clear communication around decisions we needed to make throughout. We set a day each week for the three of us to meet in person, which we loved. Also, Matt would typically end a day with a quick text or call to review what happened that day and also set an expectation for the following day. Matt was always there to talk through decisions--whether technical or design-oriented. We never felt rushed, which we really appreciated. 

We are thrilled! Our new kitchen space is a total game changer for our family. We now have a space where the whole family can hang out and where we can entertain friends. I am over the moon with the functionality of the kitchen. I love to cook and I now get to do it in my dream kitchen everyday. And, some of great ideas Matt brought to the table like the sound system and the lighting plan really enhance the experience of being in the space.
